Malawi Postal Code

Malawi officially the Republic of Malawi is a landlocked country located in Southeastern Africa. It was formerly known as Nyasaland. It is bordered by Zambia on the west, Tanzania on the north and northeast, and Mozambique on the east, south, and southwest. Lilongwe is the capital and the largest city of Malawi. The other major cities and towns in Malawi are Chitipa, Chilumba, Ekwendeni, Karonga, Likoma, Livingstonia, Mzimba, Mzuzu, Nkhata Bay, Rumphi, Chintheche, Embangweni, Aaron, Chipoka, Dowa, Balaka, Bangula, Blantyre, Salima, etc.

The official languages of the country in Malawi are English and Chewa. Land Area

Malawi has a total land area of 1,18,484 km2, which comes to around a total of 45,747 mi2. The territory of Malawi is divided into three regions which were subdivided into 28 districts. The names of the three regions are Northern Region, Central Region, and Southern Regions. It was further subdivided into cities, municipalities, towns, and villages.

Water Area

Malawi has major sources of water including groundwater, lakes, rainwater, rivers, snow, soil moisture springs, streams, water, waterfall, wetlands, etc. Malawi has more than seven lakes and a few water bodies. Some water bodies have developed as tourist spots. Many water bodies are small in area and contain a minimum volume of water. Most of these water bodies are fresh water and very few are salt lakes.

Mountains

Malawi contains more than 1,435 named mountains. The highest peak and the most prominent mountain is Sapitwa which is about 3,002 meters (9,849 feet). The other major mountains in Malawi are Nakodzwe Peak, West Peak, North Peak, Khuto Peak, Dzole, Namasile, Chinzama Peak, Chiphalombe, Matambale Peak, etc.
